Plans for The Cure’s Lucky 13th Album

With The Cure’s thirteenth album in the works with a planned release on Sunday, September 13th from Suretone/Geffen Records, the band announced a new plan to release their upcoming singles. On the thirteenth of each month until September, beginning on May 13th, The Cure will release a series of four A & B side singles to promote their yet-to-be titled album.

The May 13th release features the single “The Only One” with the b-side “NY Trip” and the June 13th release will have the single “Freakshow” with the b-side “All Kinds Of Stuff.” This will be the only opportunity to purchase the b-sides as they will not be on the studio album. The Cure is beginning their North American tour on May 9th in Washington D.C. at the Patriot Center – including their rescheduled fall dates from 2007. 65daysofstatic will be opening at all stops of the tour. The line-up is led by lead singer and guitarist Robert Smith, and includes long-time bass player Simon Gallup, drummer Jason Cooper, and guitarist Porl Thompson, who is returning to the band for a third time.
