The UK electronica/house music/ambient group The Orb has set a June 17, 2008 release date for their latest album The Dream. Although they have not released a studio album since 2003, both founders Alex Patterson and Youth have been collaborating in London and decided despite their independent successes, they were a stronger musical force working together. As with past albums, The Dream features guests vocalists, including System 7’s Steve Hillage, Battersea toaster-singer Eric Walker, aka “The Corporal,†Aki Omori, Andy Caine, and Juliet Roberts.
The Orb are set to play various festivals across the UK this summer.
