Lou Reed will be the keynote speaker at the 2008 South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference and Film Festival. A screening of Julian Schnabel’s film “Lou Reed’s ‘Berlin,'” which documents a recent performance of the landmark 1973 album, will be held in conjunction with Reed’s keynote speech. Featured speakers include Daryl Hall (of Hall and Oates fame), Seymour Stein (President of Sire Records), Steve Reich (composer), Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth fame), Sean Moriarty (CEO of Ticketmaster), and Louis Messina (founder of PACE concerts). The 2008 SXSW takes place March 12-16.
