Radiohead Makes History With Set Your Own Price

Radiohead has dispelled rumours regarding the release date of their upcoming album today by announcing an official release date of October 10th, only a week away. The entire LP, titled In Rainbows will be available for download from their website as of the 10th. What’s more, the album will be the first ever to be released in a “name your own price” format. The website will allow you to pay however much the buyer feels the record is worth.

Radiohead will be releasing a discbox version of the album which will begin shipping December 3rd of this year. The discbox set includes a 2×12 inch heavyweight vinyl record as well as two cd’s one with the standard album, one with more new songs, digital photographs and artwork. The discbox edition will be priced at around $80 US dollars after postage.
