MTV Networks, Verizon, RealNetworks Team Up on Digital Music Endeavor

MTV Networks, Verizon Wireless, and RealNetworks, Inc. have joined forces to develop a new integrated digital music experience. MTV and RealNetworks have formed a new company- Rhapsody America, for the the project that will offer exclusive service for both company’s premier music brands. The new groundbreaking contract with Verizon will allow the companies to spread their music to PCs, portable music devices, and mobile phones. On-air integration will begin next week as well as receive a push at MTV’s Video Music Awards on September 9.
