Despite rumors of Def Jam president Jay-Z leaving his label to step over to Columbia Records, the hip-hop mogul has stepped up and clarified that he will be doing no such thing. In an interview with Hot 97, Jay-Z stated that he wanted to renew his contract with Island Def Jam, who have also recently brought in Jermaine Dupri to head of their urban division.
