A life-sized bronze statue of Elvis Presley has been unveiled in Hawaii at site of his famous 1973 concert at the Neal Blaisdell Center. The King performed a TV special “Aloha From Hawaii” which was one of the first major concerts to be broadcast on globally via satellite. More than a billion people watched the landmark event. Mayor of Honolulu, Mufi Hannemann, said at the ceremony, “He was not a native son of our land, but we adopted him as our own.” The statue was a gift from TV Land.http://www.nme.com/news/elvis-presley/29976
