2007 sees Pink Floyd reach the milestone of 40 years in the business. In honor of the occasion, the band’s debut Piper at the Gates of Dawn will be given a grandiose, 3-disc remastering.

Disc one will include the original album from “Astronomy Domine” to “Bike” in mono while disc to will be the same in stereo. Disc 3 will comprise of their singles from the period like “Arnold Layne,” “See Emily Play,” and “Apples and Oranges” as well as B-sides and an alternate take of “Interstellar Overdrive” which was previously only available in EP form in France. Additional goodies will include an 8-page reproduction of Syd Barrett’s notes and packaging that resembles a cloth-covered book with the original Vic Singe album cover photo. Interesting tidbit: Piper at the Gates of Dawn was recorded in Abbey Road Studio 3 in 1967. The Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band next door at the time.http://www.bravewords.com/news/69833
