On June 28, Sir Paul McCartney gave his first in-store performace ever. The venue: Amoeba Music. The event saw fanatics camping for days outside to keep their spot as well as a midweek charitable auction of items donated by Sir Paul. Included were an autographed copy of Memory Almost Full and a signed lobby card from A Hard Days Night. All proceeds are to be donated to hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts. McCartney and his supporting band played a 90-minute set.
