The February announcement of OzzFest as a free show met with a myriad of responses. Via a staged release through various sponser sites (Monster, FYE, etc.), fans were given codes to obtain tickets beginning June 8. By June 12, more than 428,000 tickets had been simply given away to frenzied fans. There were no surcharges of any kind.
Sharon Osbourne proclaimed, “”Ozzy is the first to take an entire tour and make it free to his fans and the fans of OZZFEST. More than 428,000 tickets were distributed free to fans. How amazing is that?”
