EMI Possibly Interested in MP3?

As more labels begin to drop DRM-free downloads a la carte, speculation that EMI will support the MP3 format grows.

Though EMI didn’t comment on the MP3 support issue, in response to Steve Jobs’ recent letter against DRM, the label has experimented distributing Norah Jones, Relient K and Lily Allen MP3’s. “The results, so far, have been very positive and the response from fans has been enthusiastic … The lack of interoperability between devices and platforms is increasingly becoming an issue for consumers and EMI has been engaging with its various partners to find a solution,” the label said in a statement. http://billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003543962&imw=Y
