Nielsen Soundscan have released the end-of-the-year sales data for 2006.
While overall album sales were down 5% at 588.1 million units over the course of 2006, digital track sales saw an increase to 1.2 billion units sold.
The soundtrack, High School Musical topped album sales at 3.7 million units while Rascal Flatts followed close behind with 3.5 million with Me And My Gang.
