Slayer Banned in India

EMI Virgin India, Ltd. will recall all copies of the new Slayer album “Christ Illusion” due to protests by the locally based Catholic Secular Forum (CSF).

Joseph Dias, the CSF’s general secretary issued a statement saying the artwork “depicts Christ with a missing eye and amputated arms.” He continued, “we also condemn the track, “Skeleton Christ” as the lyrics are an insult to Christianity.”

EMI India marketing manager Kaveri Khullar said in an interview, “We assured them that all copies of the album would be pulled out. We have no plans of re-issuing it in any way.”
