Ray Davies, frontman for the Kinks, was honored at this year’s London Awards as a BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) Icon on October 3. Davies’ “enduring influence on generations of music makers” made him worthy of the honor, and Morrissey, Blur, Oasis, and Pete Townshend all paid tribute to the classic singer-songwriter.www.bmi.com
