After crunching the numbers, the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago’s Grant Park grossed upwards of $8 million. With a total paid attendance of 166,000, this almost tripled last year’s attendance of 60,000. Despite Lolla’s uneven history as a touring festival, Charles Attal cited several reasons for this year’s explosion in Chicago: “The brand, it’s the park, it’s the bands we have.
