D12 member Proof (DeShaun Holton) was shot to death early this morning at a Detroit nightclub along the now-famous Eight Mile Road. The club, 3C, was open illegally after hours when a shootout broke out on the premises and Proof and an unidentified man were hit. The other man is currently in critical condition.
Proof is most famous as a member of D12 alongside Eminem, his best friend and for whose wedding he stood as best man not three months ago. However, he was also an influential rapper in the burgeoning Detroit hip-hop scene.
