Britney A New York Monument

Britney Spears has unwittingly stirred controversy in the New York art world. A Connecticut artist is soon to display “Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston,” a life-size marble statue of Spears giving birth at a Brooklyn museum. In an explanation of his anti-abortion work, Daniel Edwards said, “Britney provides inspiration for those struggling with the ‘right choice.’ She’s given up a career to have a child… A superstar at Britney’s young age having a child is rare in today’s celebrity culture. This honors Britney for the rarity of her choice and bravery of her decision.”

Despite the work being in praise of Spears and the anti-abortion movement, both Spears’ fanbase and the Manhattan Right to Life Committee have responded angrily.
