Stones Clash with NFL

The Rolling Stones performed the halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday, continuing the NFL’s crusade for inoffensive entertainment. Apparently the Stones weren’t clean enough and the NFL saw fit to lower the volume on Mick Jagger’s microphone twice during the songs “Start Me Up” and “Rough Justice,” essentially cutting the lyrics from the broadcast.

What infuriated the Stones’ camp more than the act of censorship was the claim by an NFL spokesperson that the band had approved the act. The band maintains “the censorship of their songs by the NFL/ABC was absolutely ridiculous and completely unnecessary.” http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001958762
