Stern’s Pirates

The FCC may have pushed Howard Stern off the FM dial to Sirius Satellite, but his fans found a way to bring him back. Stern’s show was heard on broadcast radio in parts of New York and New Jersey thanks to illegal pirate radio. Stern was taking full advantage of his regulation-free environment when his show hit terrestrial airwaves, playing the Pat O’Brien tapes uncensored and his own song parodies. The FCC is annoyed by the piracy, but has no interest in the content played. The program director of one of the radio station frequencies overtaken by the pirate broadcast said the station received no complaints from listeners about the aberration.http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/382539p-324640c.html
