Despite extreme band feuding at the end of their last tour, The Vines have regrouped and are set to release their sophmore album, Winning Days on March 8. The first single off the album is due February 23.
Band tensions boiled over onstage during a gig in Boston when a fight broke out between singer Craig Nicholls and bassist Patrick Matthews. Retreating to the seclusion of Bearsville Studios in upstate New York with producer Rob Schnapf seems to have been theraputic for the band, as they reportedly only fought one day during their three month stay.
Patrick Matthews says what we can expect from the new album:
“The harder songs are harder and the softer songs are maybe the ones which have improved more. It’s more psychedelic than the first record. Just like Highly Evolved there’s a few snotty punk ones and then there are the slow songs which have the real mellotron sound on it.”http://www.nme.com/news/106988.htm
