Wire, the band formerly known as Wir which was formerly known as Wire, is back – with a kick – to re-claim the lead among bands redefining punk music as we know it. The four members of this musical revolution returned from a hiatus of solo careers a couple of years ago and have now hit us with Send, a progressive blend of electronica, techno, and punk – spiked with a style and grace only the UK can provide. Arguably the peak of their experimental discography, Send has its own energized heartbeat that burns hot from beginning to end. It starts fast and it ends fast. It’s well mixed, and blissfully surround-sound. Though the beat is constant and unwavering through 40 minutes, each track is alive with its own personality – making things diverse enough to keep you intrigued while still being tied together with a similar style. Without putting an emphasis on lyrics Send hooks you with its steady pulse, which tries to shake down your walls even when its not hitting you full force.

Where vocals are absent, Wire utilizes synthetic instruments and computer sampling for a melody caught somewhere in the middle of grunge and space-age guitars. This album is a definite prize for something out of the ordinary, and may pull someone wary of looping and sampling into a new and strange barrier-braking genre.
